In a statement, Broncos president Joe Ellis spoke to the impact Thomas has had on the team, including his training camp Hall of Fame celebration, in its memory.

“There is truly no greater gift than the blessing of being given the gift of playing football at a high level,” Ellis said. “The impact of Demaryius Thomas both on and off the field has been immense. He provided us with exceptional production on the field, never shying away from hard work and effort, with his hard work and effort leading to multiple Super Bowl appearances, the opportunity to play at a very high level as a part of the Broncos Hall of Fame and in the presence of great men and legends of the game. I’m honored and blessed to call him a teammate.”
